About the programme
Our Graduate programmes are open to anyone with a recent degree in a relevant subject that may be looking for a career in either Technical or Finance.
Our Technical graduate programme provides opportunities to experience different business units and sites, so you can spend some time learning the science behind how we produce our sandwiches, ready meals and even our prepared salads. This programme is ideal for people with a passion for great tasting food, with a food science related degree level qualification.
Our Finance graduate programme, for aspiring Financial Analysts looking to achieve a level 7 CIMA qualification alongside a full-time role. This programme also provides rotations across different sites and business units, working on projects and supporting with the day to day finance operations that form the heart of our business.
How to apply
Applications are open for our graduate programmes, from January 2025, ready for an August 2025 start.
For our Technical graduate programme, you must have the right to work in the UK and we ask that you have a passion for food, and a degree level qualification in a food or science related discipline.
For our Finance graduate programme, you must have the right to work in the UK and we are looking for a strong Mathematical background, and a degree level qualification, although this doesn’t need to be finance related. Please note for our Finance graduate programme that if you have more than 8 CIMA exemptions you will be unable to apply, as you will not be eligible for the level 7 apprenticeship.
Please make sure you include as much information as you can about your education and work experience in your application, to make sure we get as complete a picture of you as we can.
Our application process consists of:
- An online application
- A telephone interview
- A virtual, online assessment centre
- A face to face assessment centre

Frequently asked questions
-
What do you look for in your application process?
The main things we look for are a positive attitude and a passion for food. We look to understand your motivations for wanting to undertake one of our programmes, the skills that you’ve learned at university and anything else you can apply to your role.
Don’t worry if you don’t have a lot of work experience, we also look at how you worked with your peers at college/university, and our applicants frequently talk about projects they have undertaken as part of their studies throughout the application process.
-
How long does the application process take?
We receive lots of applications for our early careers programmes, which means we are very busy working our way through them, scheduling calls, interviews and assessment centres. We aim to keep you involved throughout each stage of the process, and you will hear if you have been successful soon after each stage. Following assessment centres and final stage interviews, we also provide all candidates with feedback on how they performed, which can help to shape any future recruitment processes if need be.
-
If I am successful, will I have the opportunity to speak to any graduates already working at Greencore?
As soon as we have offered positions to our successful candidates, we put you in touch with our previous cohorts who will answer any questions you may have about life at Greencore, the programme, the qualification and the support provided. This is informal, and lets you meet your peers and others who will also be joining alongside you in September.
-
When do the early careers programmes start?
We induct all our new early careers colleagues together at the same time, in mid-September, which means you have summer to prepare for your new role. Induction lasts 3 days and is usually held in a hotel in the South Yorkshire area. At induction, you will meet others on your programme as well as people across all our early careers programmes, previous cohorts, your support network and learn plenty about what life at Greencore is really like!
